About the role
We are seeking an experienced Oncology Pharmacist for a travel contract assignment in Pittsfield, MA. This role supports a Cancer and Infusion Center providing specialized clinical pharmacy services.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient therapy for appropriateness, including age-specific modifications
- Perform clinical interventions to prevent adverse drug events
- Provide operational support and educational services for new treatment regimens
- Prepare and supervise the preparation of IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and sterile products
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff
- Develop and update departmental and nursing policies
- Collaborate with the oncology team to standardize chemotherapy ordering procedures
- Maintain and manage medication inventory for oncology services
Requirements
- Active Pharmacist License in Massachusetts (required)
- Minimum 5 years of acute care clinical experience (required)
- Ability to mix and compound chemotherapy/sterile preparations (required)
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency in Oncology (strongly preferred)
- Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) credential (strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within established policies
- Capable of supervising support staff
- Reliable personal transportation (required)
