Responsibilities

  • Practice nursing safely and effectively in the correctional setting
  • Develop nursing diagnoses and outcomes
  • Plan the delivery of health care
  • Implement care plans
  • Analyze and evaluate the structure, process, and timeframes for service delivery
  • Delegate responsibility for patient care
  • Teach, instruct, monitor, supervise, and evaluate the implementation of tasks
  • Assess the subjective and objective symptoms of patient's medical and emotional conditions
  • Administer medical and nursing treatment
  • Communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and via computer
  • Remain on duty until adequate replacement has arrived
  • Participate in institution safety and sanitation inspections

Requirements

  • Initial and continuous unencumbered licensure in the State of Washington as a Registered Nurse
  • One (1) year experience working as a Registered Nurse
  • Training by the American Heart Association in Healthcare Provider CPR
  • Proficient using computer-based programs to schedule, monitor and track patient information
