School-Based Social Worker

A dedicated professional is sought to provide vital social work services within a K-12 school setting in Lapeer, MI. This contract position, lasting the current school year (CSY), offers an opportunity to support the emotional, social, and academic well-being of students through targeted interventions and collaboration with educators and families.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students’ social, emotional, and behavioral needs
• Develop and implement individualized support plans to address barriers to learning and promote student success
• Facilitate counseling sessions, crisis intervention, and group work as necessary
• Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, families, and community resources to coordinate services
• Maintain accurate documentation and case records in compliance with school policies and regulations
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to advocate for student needs and monitor progress

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program
• Valid state licensure or certification as a school social worker or eligibility to obtain one
• Experience working in school environments or with children and adolescents
• Strong understanding of child development, family dynamics, and community resources
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and sensitivity
