Responsibilities
- Practice nursing safely and effectively in the correctional setting
- Develop nursing diagnoses and outcomes
- Plan the delivery of health care
- Implement care plans
- Analyze and evaluate the structure, process, and timeframes for service delivery
- Delegate responsibility for patient care
- Teach, instruct, monitor, supervise, and evaluate the implementation of tasks
- Assess the subjective and objective symptoms of patient's medical and emotional conditions
- Administer medical and nursing treatment
- Communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and via computer
- Remain on duty until adequate replacement has arrived
- Participate in institution safety and sanitation inspections
Requirements
- Initial and continuous unencumbered licensure in the State of Washington as a Registered Nurse
- One (1) year experience working as a Registered Nurse
- Training by the American Heart Association in Healthcare Provider CPR
- Proficient using computer-based programs to schedule, monitor and track patient information
