Staff Software Engineer, YouTube Shopping Platform

Develop a detailed understanding of YouTube (YT) Shopping. Collaborate with Cross-functional (x-fn) partners, Engineering Managers (EMs) and Program Managers (PMs) to support strategic business priorities with technical roadmaps. Author and guide the team in producing robust end-to-end technical designs, translating product requirements into well-defined implementation plans that can be executed on. Support the engineering team throughout the entire development cycle, actively participating in design, code and launch reviews, resulting in high-quality features. Conduct data analyses to evaluate the impact of implemented features on key business metrics, contribute to the definition and continuous monitoring of relevant performance indicators. Foster strong collaborative relationships with other YouTube Shopping Team Leads (TLs) and YouTube platform/infra engineering teams to realize design with best practices within realistic timelines.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
