About the role
WSDOT is seeking a knowledgeable and strategic IT professional to serve in a key Vendor Management (VM) role within the Technology Services Division (TSD).
Responsibilities
- Manage and provide strategic, tactical, and operational planning for WSDOT’s IT vendor management support services.
- Establish and maintain key customer and vendor management relationships to support and enable planning across all lines of business.
- Oversee technology vendor management for the regions and WSF as needed.
- Manage technology vendor lifecycle and operations end to end including contracts, procurement, vendor relationships, and asset management.
- Implement and support standards, procedures and guidelines consistent with technology procurement and financial policies and controls.
Requirements
- Asset, Contract & Vendor Management: Experience in managing relationships with IT vendors, monitoring service delivery, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and performance standards.
- IT Purchasing & Procurement: Demonstrated experience managing IT procurement processes, including preparing specifications, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring purchases align with technical standards and agency requirements.
- Technical Consulting & Customer Support: Skilled in providing technical consultation to internal stakeholders, advising on IT solutions that meet functional, operational, and strategic needs.
- Technical & Operational Knowledge: Working knowledge of hardware and software technologies commonly used in enterprise environments, including their functions and support needs.
- Attention to Detail & Quality Assurance: Skilled in reviewing and editing procurement documentation and contracts to identify and correct errors, omissions, and inconsistencies.
- Time & Task Management: Demonstrated ability to complete assignments within established timelines and manage priorities across concurrent projects and vendor engagements.
