Responsibilities
- Manages a caseload of work item requests by reviewing, adjudicating, and assuring decisions are made within management expectations.
- Resolves worker disputes concerning with the authorization of medical treatment, accepted or denied conditions, compensation benefits, and provider bills.
- Reviews, analyzes, and adjudicates complex formal protests from decisions involving coverage, extent of entitlement of benefits, jurisdictional matters, and other contested determination.
Requirements
- Experience with managing a full complexity range of worker’s compensation claims and paying benefits when appropriate.
- Experience working in a high-paced environment with specific deadlines and frequent interruptions.
- Proven ability to research, analyze and problem-solve multidimensional issues.
- Experience communicating with and assisting upset, confused, or demanding customers/consumers.
