About the role
L&I Program Assistant, Utilization Review
Responsibilities
- Completes administrative reviews of multiple types of UR reports from shared work lists for completeness and accuracy.
- Reviews outpatient surgery, spinal injection, advanced imaging and therapy reviews for accepted conditions, appropriate coding and date spans.
- Identifies incomplete or inaccurate reports.
- Supports UR program staff with process improvement projects including use of Visio (or other software), Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Responds to phone or email inquiries regarding UR.
- Assists claims staff, bill payment staff and medical providers and directs inquiries to correct UR staff person.
- Provides general administrative support to the utilization review unit.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent
- 2 years of clerical/office related experience working with customers.
- 1 year clerical experience in insurance, workers’ comp or a medical provider office or equivalent.
