• Attaches and completes 12 lead EKG tests before providing the strip to the physician on duty.
• Initiates cardiac monitoring, detects dysrhythmias, and notifies the assigned nurse or charge nurse of abnormalities.
• Performs venipuncture for testing and inserts peripheral IVs, hang IV fluid without medication, and maintains prescribed IV flow rates.
• Observes and documents the condition of infusion sites and remove IV lines as directed by registered nurse.
• Assists physician or registered nurse with procedures and exams.
• Follows Center for Disease Control isolation guidelines, demonstrate appropriate use of personal protective equipment, perform hand washing according to policy, and enforce safety regulations.
• Champions customer service by keeping patients informed, providing updates, and demonstrating caring and compassion.
• Provides patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
