Head of Middle Market - Denmark & Norway

Chubb is on a mission to accelerate our growth in the middle market segment and we are looking for a strong leader to lead our middle market underwriting team and deliver on the ambition.

As the Head of Middle Market you will be market facing and responsible for the development and executing on the strategic plans for the segment. You will be leading a team of 14 highly motivated underwriters within the following lines of business: Property, Casualty, Financial Lines, Cyber, Marine and Environment liability.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

* Define and execute on a clear and differentiated Chubb value proposition for the Middle Market segment and implement a customized distribution strategy in cooperation with the Distribution Manager

* Lead and develop a team of underwriters to maximize their potential and help them deliver their best performance as both a team and as individuals. Provide regular coaching and feedback on their strengths and development needs.

* Drive a strong and adequate pipeline management structure across your team and all lines of business. Plan and deliver excellent renewal servicing of existing portfolios in cooperation with the Nordic Lines Managers

* Develop new and existing broker & client relationships. Maintain direct relationship with important customers and partners.

* Close adherence and understanding of internal profitability criteria, profit and loss planning and production targets will be key performance indicators. Meet plan on total premium production incl. new business and retention.

* Build a relationship and collaborate with local and regional leaders as well as local team to secure superior growth while maintaining underwriting discipline.

Qualifications

* Strong leadership experience and skills with a drive to achieve superior results. Strategic thinker with the ability to engage people for best-in-class performance

* The ideal candidate has a profound knowledge in (at least) one P&C line of business and a solid understanding of all other relevant product lines

* Experience with finding efficiencies in the underwriting value chain and optimize the cross sell between different lines of business.

* Highly experienced in dealing with brokers, clients and insurers on a senior level

* Positive can-do-attitude; results driven with a willingness to make informed decisions and assume responsibility. Strong entrepreneurial spirit, owns the Middle Market business with a passion to profitably grow it and win market shares

* Strong communicator with an ability to build solid networks, both internally and externally and to promote the Chubb brand

* Fluent in Danish and English.
