Responsibilities Job Summary The Director directs and oversees information systems applications activities and resources for Acute Electronic Health Records (EHRs), specifically for Altera and Meditech platforms. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Management Develops departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the organization's technological, clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives. Develops partnerships with senior management and senior users regarding strategic technology issues. Establishes strategic direction and oversight to ensure technology resources are optimized and expenses are managed. Ensures that technology strategy and plans align with business plans and operational needs. Operational Oversight Directs and evaluates all team activities. Ensures projects are in place to meet business needs quickly and efficiently. Acts as a partner liaison for vendor relationships. Financial & Human Resources Management Prepares departmental budgets and ensures compliance with allocated funding. Plans, organizes, and directs all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives. Required Skills & Abilities (Fundamental Skills) Leadership & Communication: Exceptional communicator and presenter with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams to deliver and meet organizational needs in compressed timeframes. Management: Strong people management, executive presence, critical thinking, problem-solving, conflict management, and decision-making skills. Work Style: Ability to manage multiple work commitments, producing high-quality work products under pressure and within deadlines. Education & Experience Requirements Minimum Experience: High School diploma/equivalency: 5 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience (with 2 years in leadership/management); OR Associate's or Bachelor's degree: 3 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience (with 2 years in leadership/management). Preferences: Healthcare IT experience is preferred.
