About the role
As an ICU Nurse at Glendale Memorial Medical Center, you will monitor critically ill patients, take report from nursing teammates, provide care, perform procedures, assist with treatments like chest tubes or central lines, and advocate for patients. Requirements include 6 months of acute care experience, a California RN license, BCLS/ACLS certification, and other qualifications. Responsibilities
- Assesses, plans, and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort
- Anticipates, identifies, and responds to informational and emotional needs of patients and families
- Guides and directs healthcare personnel in caring for patients
- Maintains knowledge of equipment setup, maintenance, and use
- Utilizes safeguards such as IV pump drug library and monitor alarms
- Initiates emergency support measures
- Assists with patient care duties/tasks
Requirements
- Minimum requirement of 6 months of prior acute care experience in same unit
- Current California license as a Registered Nurse
- BCLS/ACLS, basic EKG certification
- Experience with Meditech preferred
- CT STROKE (NIHSS) within 90 days of hire
