About the role
This opportunity is for a Special Education Teacher to support high school students in a dynamic educational environment. The role involves delivering tailored instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities, promoting their academic progress and personal development throughout the school year.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate students’ unique learning styles and abilities
- Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to students, families, and staff
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student performance and goals
- Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings
Requirements
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with high school students with special needs
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and legal requirements related to special education
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
