All the benefits and perks you need for you and your family: Benefits from Day One Paid Days Off from Day One Student Loan Repayment Program Career Development Whole Person Wellbeing Resources Mental Health Resources and Support Pet Insurance* Debt-free Education* (Certifications and Degrees without out-of-pocket tuition expense) Schedule: Full-Time Shift: Days Location: 601 EAST ROLLINS STREET, Orlando, 32803 The community you'll be caring for: Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,368-bed AdventHealth Orlando Serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America AdventHealth Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year Your role Determines plan for nutritional intervention to treat nutritional problems Defines measurable goals with documentation in the medical record Communicates plan with the healthcare team members, the patients, and caregivers to coordinate care and promote an optimal outcome Follow-up plans of care or interventions as appropriate to assess response Provides professional nutrition counseling that is age and culturally specific Provides nutrition education that is sensitive to the patients learning need, condition, readiness to learn, literacy, hearing, language, and age Evaluates the patients response to education Qualifications What You Will Need: Bachelors degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or comparable major If in Transplant Center: More than one-year clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Florida Department of Health dietitian/nutritionist license Certification in area of specialty: If in Nutritional Support: Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) If in Neonatal Intensive Care: Certified Nutritional Support Clinical (CNSC) If in Pediatrics: Commission on Dietetic Registration Board Certification in Pediatric Nutrition If in Diabetes: Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) If in Renal: Commission Dietetic Registration Board Certification in Renal Nutrition If In Oncology: Commission on Dietetic Registration Board Certification in Oncology Nutrition If In Weight Loss Management: Certified in Adult Weight Loss Management Preferred: Master of Science degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences, Human Nutrition, or nutrition related field Experience using Cerner medical record If in Transplant Center: three (3) years clinical experience as a Registered Dietitian If In Transplant: Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) If in Transplant Center: Renal: Commission on Dietetic Registration Board Certification in Renal Nutrition Nutrition Support: Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) Diabetes: Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) Job Summary: Utilizes the hospitals policies, procedures, and protocols to identify patients with nutrition risks. Provides expert evaluation of nutritional status, recommends and implements nutrition intervention and therapy, educates and explains to patients, families, and healthcare professionals, and follows-up plans of care to measure and respond to outcomes. Precepts and develops dietetic interns, pharmacy interns or residents, and physician residents. Supports department goals and objectives. Documents and writes orders in the medical record; according, to hospital policies and protocols. IN TRANSPLANT CENTER: Utilizes CMS guidelines for Transplant Centers, identifying potential transplant patients, donors, and post-transplant patients. Informs potential transplant patients of potential diet and nutrition-related risks. Provides education on optimizing nutritional status to prepare for surgery. Documents and communicates in the OTTR medical record and with the multidisciplinary team assessment results, interventions provided and care plan goals; according, to the Transplant Centers policies. Encourages multidisciplinary care by participating in team Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs, Patient Review Committee (PRC) meetings, evidence-based-practice groups, and hospital staff committees. Serves as an expert resource and nutrition educator to the healthcare team by remaining abreast of the current evidence-based-practice guidelines and recommendations for transplant nutrition.
