Responsibilities
- Process payment utilizing proper accounting procedures and methods
- Reviews, analyzes, and interprets financial records
- Send Travel statements to responsible staff for reconciliation
- Process email requests for travel and payables
- Process travel reimbursement requests
- Process payments to contractors, state agencies, and vendors
- Process assigned credit card payments
- Assign appropriate coding to ensure expenditures are accurately expensed to the correct funding source
- Review, analyze, verify, and correct accounting data within AFRS
- Review financial data and prepare monthly accruals
- Communicate with customers in person, over the phone or in writing
- Explain to staff and customers the accounting requirements and procedures
- Evaluate and resolve complaints
Requirements
- Equivalent education/experience totaling four (4) years
- Bachelor’s degree, which includes at least 18 quarter or 12 semester hours of accounting, auditing or budgeting
- One to two years of relevant professional experience
- Master’s degree in a financial related field, certification as a Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Certified Governmental Financial Manager or Management Accountant
