Responsibilities

  • Process payment utilizing proper accounting procedures and methods
  • Reviews, analyzes, and interprets financial records
  • Send Travel statements to responsible staff for reconciliation
  • Process email requests for travel and payables
  • Process travel reimbursement requests
  • Process payments to contractors, state agencies, and vendors
  • Process assigned credit card payments
  • Assign appropriate coding to ensure expenditures are accurately expensed to the correct funding source
  • Review, analyze, verify, and correct accounting data within AFRS
  • Review financial data and prepare monthly accruals
  • Communicate with customers in person, over the phone or in writing
  • Explain to staff and customers the accounting requirements and procedures
  • Evaluate and resolve complaints

Requirements

  • Equivalent education/experience totaling four (4) years
  • Bachelor’s degree, which includes at least 18 quarter or 12 semester hours of accounting, auditing or budgeting
  • One to two years of relevant professional experience
  • Master’s degree in a financial related field, certification as a Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Certified Governmental Financial Manager or Management Accountant
