Director, Product Management, DevX - API Platforms

Director, Product Management (PXDP60) Capital One is a high-tech company, a scientific laboratory, and a nationally recognized brand all-in-one, reaching tens of millions of consumers. This team leads our API ecosystem and associated developer platforms. APIs form a critical building block for developing software, from customer applications, to real-time financial decisioning, to machine learning and AI. • Engage all stakeholders (Business, Engineering, Architecture, Risk, and Cyber) directly through a variety of channels to serve as the voice of the customer - identify new capabilities, define product features, and work closely with development teams to launch those features
• Set strategic vision and drive your team’s roadmaps, and regularly engaging and updating Leadership and stakeholders
• Partner with engineering leadership across multiple teams, ensuring strong collaboration and alignment among your teams
• Own the product management practice within your organization, defining expectations and commitments and driving continuous improvement
• Operationalizing product metrics for the products you own and building business cases for new investment
• Influencing senior stakeholders to adopt your products and building buy in and trust by sharing out the consequent business impact

• At least 7 years of experience working in Product Management
• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an expectation that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date: Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field
• Technical knowledge necessary to propose and influence new product and feature ideas, especially in the space of enterprise-scale APIs, balancing developer enablement with governing and securing the API ecosystems
• Experience forming business strategy and and translating it into enterprise-grade software solutions
• Strong understanding of API and cloud operations, with the ability to articulate the opportunities and trade offs across an API management ecosystem
