About the role

The Assistant Contracts Administrator (Contract Specialist 3) position is within the Operations Division and is based out of our Tumwater Office. We are an employer of choice! Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer complex contracts, interagency agreements, data sharing agreements, leases, and memorandums for agreement.
  • Ensures state (DES/OFM) and agency regulations and guidelines for contracting and procurement are followed, working with the Attorney General's Office as needed.
  • Completes annual contracting and IT contracting reports as required by DES.
  • Assists with the DES procurement risk assessment.
  • Establishes policies and procedures to ensure compliance with contracts, including training other employees on proper contract administration items such as payments and filings.
  • Prepare tax and regulatory surcharge billings, analyze insurance premium tax forms and provide assistance to insurance companies.
  • Input payroll and insurance data.
  • Prepare purchasing documents for approval.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four (4) years of full-time (40 hours per week or equivalent) professional experience within a finance, accounting or payroll office.
  • A degree involving major study in public administration, business administration, business law, commerce, economics, mathematics, statistics or closely allied field from an accredited institution whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council of Higher Education Accreditation or a foreign equivalent
