About the role

Highway Maintenance Worker 2 - (Multiple Positions) Non-Permanent

Responsibilities

  • Perform day-to-day highway maintenance and repair
  • Operate and haul materials with trucks and highway equipment
  • Remove litter, debris, and hazards from the roadway and right-of-way
  • Conduct snow and ice control operations
  • Respond to emergencies by setting up traffic control, assisting with closures, and acting as a first responder at accidents or spills
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on equipment, tools, and vehicles
  • Document and report daily work activities while accounting for materials and inventory
  • Lead and train crew members in the absence of a Highway Maintenance Worker 3
  • Assign tasks and provide instruction

Requirements

  • Highway Maintenance and Equipment Operation
  • Commercial Driver’s Licensing (CDL) Proficiency
  • Traffic Control and Safety Certification
  • Respect and Equity
