About the role
Soliant Education is seeking a qualified and dedicated Special Education Teacher for an onsite, self-contained elementary classroom in the Bowling Green, VA area. This is a full-time contract position for the 2025–2026 school year. Candidates must be certified in Special Education in the state of Virginia.
Responsibilities: Plan and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs Provide instruction in a self-contained classroom setting for elementary-aged students Modify curriculum and adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and parents Maintain accurate records on student progress, behavior, and educational plans Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and professional training sessions
Requirements: Valid Virginia Special Education Teacher certification Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred) Prior experience in a self-contained classroom is preferred Strong communication and classroom management skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based educational environment Must be able to work onsite – this is not a remote position
