Responsibilities
- Lead statewide surveillance
- Guide epidemiologic investigations
- Oversee data analysis and reporting
- Strengthen partnerships
- Serve as a data and informatics expert
- Lead and mentor staff
- Represent Washington State
- Collaborate with local, state, or federal public health partners
- Analyze and manage large public health datasets
- Translate surveillance data into actionable insights
- Design and lead epidemiologic investigations
- Manage or supervise epidemiology or public health surveillance staff
Requirements
- Ten (10) years of professional or consultative experience in epidemiology research and analysis and/or in a health services or similar program
- A Bachelor’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, public health, health care administration, public or business administration, or allied field with coursework in epidemiology, data science, statistics, research, research design, biostatistics, or closely related areas; AND five 5 years of professional or consultative experience in epidemiology research and analysis and/or in a health services or similar program
- A Master’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, public health, health care administration, public or business administration, or allied field with coursework in epidemiology, data science, statistics, research, research design, biostatistics, or closely related areas; AND Three (3) years of professional or consultative experience in epidemiology research and analysis and/or in a health services or similar program
- A Doctoral degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, data science, public health, health care administration, public or business administration, or allied field with coursework in epidemiology, data science, statistics, research, research design, biostatistics, or closely related areas; AND One (1) year of professional or consultative experience in epidemiology research and analysis and/or in a health services or similar program
