Special Education Teacher

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary-aged students in a dynamic educational setting in Gainesville, GA. This contract position spans the current school year, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners’ academic and social growth.

• Deliver individualized instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with diverse learning abilities.
• Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) in collaboration with parents, teachers, and support staff.
• Utilize specialized teaching strategies and adaptive materials to enhance students’ educational outcomes.
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods to meet evolving needs.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and self-confidence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support for each student.

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
• Experience working with elementary school students in a special education setting.
• Strong knowledge of educational best practices, behavior management, and compliance with related regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with families and staff.
• Ability to remain patient, flexible, and compassionate, addressing the varied challenges faced by students.
