About the role
WDVA is now hiring an Eastern Washington-based Regional Service Coordinator (Program Specialist 4) to provide crucial case management, grant intake, and community outreach for the SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG SPGP)
Responsibilities
- Provide case management services to eligible SSG Fox SPGP clients
- Assess, measure, and monitor financial stability, mental health status, well-being, and social support
- Tailor suicide prevention services to the needs of eligible individuals and their families
- Measure and report grant program effectiveness to the grantor
- Perform pre- and post-assessments and provide coaching and consultation to clients
- Refer clients to other SMVF programs and services as eligible and appropriate
- Collect and record client data in agency and VA client management systems
- Perform SSG Fox Grant intake to determine client eligibility for services under the SSG Fox SPGP
- Conduct community outreach throughout Spokane, Lincoln, Ferry, Pend Orielle, and Stevens counties
- Build awareness of SMVF issues
- Promote suicide prevention strategies, services, and resources
- Encourage enrollment in grant-funded services
- Inform and refer SMVF regarding other state, federal, and private health care, benefits, and related support programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social services, social work, public health, or a related field
- Two years of experience providing services to Veterans and their families in a human services environment related to mental health, traumatic brain injury, and/or similar functional area
- Training in ASSIST, AMSR, ZERO Suicide, and other suicide prevention models
