Responsibilities
- Review and interpret legal agreements to ensure accurate account setup.
- Set up accounts in billing systems, entering all required information, formulas, and calculations for various deductible and self-insured plan types.
- Produce installment, paid loss, and valuation billings, along with specialized reports, in accordance with billing schedules.
- Extract claim data from loss systems to support billing exhibits.
- Reconcile and balance assigned accounts, apply payments, research discrepancies, and process return checks.
- Manage collections on assigned accounts, resolving disputes and payment issues by collaborating with business partners.
- Coordinate with internal teams to improve cash flow processes.
- Achieve and maintain established productivity and quality standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, databases, and reporting tools.
- Prior experience in TPA or commercial insurance billing preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues.
- Self-starter who can work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to balance accuracy with timeliness in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative, “outside-the-box” thinker who challenges the status quo and drives process improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proven track record of identifying gaps in processes, recommending solutions, and following through to resolution.
- Strong collaboration skills to build and maintain business partnerships.
- Ability to appropriately escalate concerns that may impact deadlines or deliverables.
