Referral Specialist

The Referral Specialist is responsible for selecting, authorizing, and scheduling appointments and/or procedures for patients who have been referred by the Providers of the Primary Care Network Physicians Group.

• Communicates clearly and concisely with coworkers, patients, and physicians.
• Demonstrates and conveys a favorable image of the Medical Center and cooperates in a team atmosphere.
• Consistently works to stay up to date on referral orders to achieve the standard of care.
• Incorporates patient, physician, and customer needs into decision-making and organizational actions.
• Answers phone calls promptly, assists patients with questions, and schedules procedures as needed.
• Maintains referral integrity, processes all orders, and communicates with patients and providers.

• High School Grad or equivalent
• Preferred qualifications: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• 1 year of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding experience
• Administrative or clerical experience. Healthcare experience, call center experience or related
