About the role
This is an INTERNAL recruitment, open to current, permanent WA State Department of Corrections employees only. CCOs work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the agency's mission by improving public safety.
Responsibilities
- Supervise individuals who have committed a crime and have been ordered to supervision in the community
- Engage with supervised individuals to work towards positive change
- Enforce supervision conditions and the law
- Lead other Community Corrections Officers
- Act as the Unit Duty Officer
- Other duties as assigned or necessary
Requirements
- Two years as a Community Corrections Officer within the Washington State Department of Corrections
- Bachelor's degree from a college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or the US Department of Education, or foreign equivalent
- Three years of professional work experience in adult or juvenile corrections, counseling, social work, social service, or law enforcement or closely related field
