Staff Software Engineer, YouTube Shopping Platform

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another.

• Develop a detailed understanding of YouTube (YT) Shopping.
• Collaborate with Cross-functional (x-fn) partners, Engineering Managers (EMs) and Program Managers (PMs) to support strategic business priorities with technical roadmaps.
• Author and guide the team in producing robust end-to-end technical designs, translating product requirements into well-defined implementation plans that can be executed on.
• Support the engineering team throughout the entire development cycle, actively participating in design, code and launch reviews, resulting in high-quality features.
• Conduct data analyses to evaluate the impact of implemented features on key business metrics, contribute to the definition and continuous monitoring of relevant performance indicators.
• Foster strong collaborative relationships with other YouTube Shopping Team Leads (TLs) and YouTube platform/infra engineering teams to realize design with best practices within realistic timelines.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
