Data Insights Consultant in Dallas, Texas, United States of America | Marketing & Southwest Business at Southwest

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with sales organization to understand data needs and data gaps based on business plans and identify road-map for delivery
  • Influences development of Southwest Business data road-map
  • Provides guidance on prioritization and sequencing of this effort
  • Creates and manages work plan to translate business data/reporting needs from concept to delivery
  • Works to consolidate all Southwest Business related data elements, transform the data as necessary, and present them back to end users via appropriate tools and format
  • Works cross-functionally with technology counterparts to understand Southwest Business data structure and flow of data from DB into business/visualization tools
  • Provides guidance and recommendations on best practices
  • Monitors the accuracy of all data elements including those sourced via productionized internal database as well as those that are self-reported within the CRM tool
  • Provides guidance and recommendations surrounding data governance needs for Account Managers in order to ensure accuracy of self-reported data within the sales organization CRM solution
  • Collaborates with other Departments (Marketing, Network Planning, Revenue Management) to identify and source relevant content for incorporation into data/reporting needs
  • Evaluate available resources (relational databases, data transformation tools, visualization tools) on an ongoing basis and provide recommendations regarding best fit for data needs
  • Partners with Performance and Planning/Sales Analytics, support in the development of reporting and analysis for Southwest Business, including: executive reporting of sales results, key metrics and KPIs, campaign tracking and analysis, sales pipeline, corporate contracts, and ad hoc strategic analysis
  • Creates tracking mechanisms to proactively monitor and identify opportunities for revenue growth
  • Identify project/analysis opportunities and prioritizes in context of other work
  • Attend, actively participate in, and lead meetings involving complex issues
  • Develop business intelligence reports and Sales data tools to support KPI’s, performance, portfolio, and pipeline management

Requirements

  • Ability to interpret data, draw implications and modify approach
  • Possesses strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with ability to articulate complex concepts in an appropriate manner for the intended audience
  • Skilled in learning and problem solving with consistently demonstrated abilities in these area
  • Ability to take comprehensive view of role ownership; is able to see ahead and move forward with requisite course of action without being instructed by Leader
  • Ability to consistently recommend actionable solutions to the team
  • Ability to prioritize own work and actively makes trade-offs to move items with highest revenue opportunity or greatest sense of urgency to prime importance
  • Ability to be self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain a strong customer service orientation
  • Skilled in viewing problems as an opportunity for improvement
  • Ability to make decisions in an ambiguous environment
  • Ability to function under stress, meet deadlines, juggle multiple tasks, and work as a team player with little supervision
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and particularly Excel and SQL skills including the ability to develop automated processes
  • Skilled oral and written communicator who can effectively manage relationships internally and externally, able to clearly summarize key insights for varied audiences up to the Vice President level
  • Ability to advise Team and department with technical aspects
  • Ability to translate complicated technical information to a visual representation that non-technical users can understand
  • Knowledge in using network to gather data/information and prepare work deliverables efficiently
  • Ability to be a self-learner that leverages continuing education and technology self-service initiatives to improve efficiencies, accuracy, and productivity for the team
