About the role
This contract position offers an opportunity to serve as a Middle School Special Education Co-Teacher from November through February. This role focuses on supporting students with diverse learning needs in a dynamic middle school environment.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Provide tailored instruction and support to middle school students with special education needs
- Assist in classroom management and foster an inclusive learning environment
- Monitor student progress and modify instructional strategies as necessary
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to promote academic and social growth
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to curriculum development relevant to special education
Requirements
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with middle school students in a special education setting
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and co-teach effectively
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to student success
