Responsibilities
- Collaborates with various Microsoft teams including; Tax, Accounting, Finance and other business teams to understand requirements for finance functions.
- Helps with accounting and finance process mapping and understanding and assists in requirements gathering for various functions/processes.
- Primarily supports the Compliance workstream which requires deep engagement and alignment with Internal and External Audit, Corporate Financial Controls Group and individual control owners.
- Ensuring that control considerations are documented, reviewed and an approved plan is in place to ensure continued compliance throughout the project.
- Compare existing processes and systems to validate and identify future solutions, assessing the impact of strategic initiatives on finance systems.
- Be a champion in the application/recommendation of AI solutions within current processes as well as with program management.
- Communicate the connection between processes, strategy, metrics, and projects across business, technical groups, and functional leaders.
- Maximizes user value of data solutions through evangelization, change management, and user education efforts like readiness materials, training sessions, and hands-on support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 2+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting
- Preferred Qualifications: 4+ years experience in Finance/Accounting
- 3+ years of experience in external audit, assurance, or accounting operations
- Experience supporting financial systems or ERP environments (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday)
- Knowledge of accounting controls and processes (SOX, ICFR, risk management)
- 1+ year of experience supporting a cloud-based or technology-driven business (preferred: Azure, AWS, or similar)
- Demonstrated experience in applying AI solutions to accounting/finance processes
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Equivalent
