Responsibilities
- Provide effective American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for K-12 students, teachers, and staff during classes, meetings, and school events.
- Facilitate clear and accurate communication in accordance with educational and legal standards.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Assist with educational materials and resources to support the curriculum for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Requirements
- Proficiency in American Sign Language with experience interpreting in educational settings.
- Knowledge of K-12 curriculum and classroom dynamics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to varying classroom needs.
- Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter or ASL teacher is preferred.
