We are looking for a Senior Member of Technical Staff to join this newly formed team. You will collaborate with talented engineers who are transforming healthcare data into actionable insights that empower clinicians, researchers, and administrators to deliver better care.
Responsibilities
- Produce accurate, unambiguous technical design specifications to the appropriate detail.
- Deliver customer value in the form of high-quality software components and services in adherence with policies on Security, performance, longevity and Integration testing.
- Understand, debug existing systems and propose new, alternative technology to make them more scalable and achieve results.
- Perform peer code reviews to ensure quality standards.
- Provide your input in design discussions.
- Develop knowledge to act as a domain expert, share business and technical insights with the team and broaden engineering and product organization.
- Collaborate inclusively with cross-functional team members to develop product solutions that ultimately help improve health outcomes for patients.
- Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with data engineers, data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and business leaders to translate data needs into actionable solutions.
- Troubleshoot production and non-production issues and support athenaOne customers.
- Demonstrate ownership for what you and the team build and deploy in production.
- Take lead on RCA discussions, production issues and troubleshooting.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- 8+ years of commercial software engineering experience, dealing with data at scale.
- Extensive knowledge of Java programming language and frameworks like spring boot and hibernate
- Experience of Distributed systems and Microservices.
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux, SQL, NOSQL, and related tools and performance tuning.
- Experience with delivering products that leverage one or more of AWS/Microsoft Azure/Google Cloud Provider/Snowflake.
- Knowledge of Agile SDLC practices; familiarity with unit and integration testing, as well as design and code reviews and documentation.
- Ability to write code that is technically sound, testable, resilient, performant, scalable, and readable.
- Experience with DevOps principles, and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins along with git, bitbucket and other source code repositories.
- Strong communication skills to work across geographies, and a record of engineering achievement, code ownership, and customer orientation.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills that encourage growth for more junior members.
- Track record of designing and delivering cloud-based products, modules, and services.
- Proven track record of implementing and adopting new technologies and methodologies.
- Knowledge of healthcare and electronic health records is a plus.
