Claims Analyst III, Commercial Auto

• Review casualty claims in conjunction with policy wordings to determine coverage
• Provide direction to adjusters on investigation of claims
• Prepare disclaimer and/or reservation of rights letters and communication same to underwriters, brokers and insureds when applicable
• Provide instruction to legal counsel to bring about appropriate resolution of claim
• Ensure compliance by legal counsel of our litigation guidelines
• Participate in mediation/ADR process to bring about resolution of claim
• Negotiate settlements directly where possible
• Issue payments within appropriate time frame
• Operate within our best practices guidelines, including timely reserve review, notes, payment requests, electronic diary
• Inform management of all complaints, large losses, coverage issues, etc.

• Minimum 3 years of experience or knowledge in handling commercial auto claims is an asset
• College/University or equivalent industry experience
• Ability to make decisions and give directions to counsel and/or adjusters
• Strong negotiating skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast paced busy team environment
• Ability to manage workload effectively and efficiently
• Enrollment or willingness to obtain CIP designation is an asset
• Proficient computer skills to navigate paperless claim file system
