Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support to staff in the absence of the Manager and/or Director or designee.
- Collaborates with all disciplines in the coordination of quality patient care.
- Facilitates patient placement and timely patient throughput to the appropriate care setting.
- Works collaboratively with Unit Shift Managers providing guidance and direction in daily operations.
- Identifies and intervenes with Human Resource issues.
- Communicates these issues to the appropriate Director/AOC.
- Participates in disciplinary action of staff, as warranted.
- Assists at month's end to assure all renewals of licensures/certifications are completed.
- Collaborates with staff to ensure schedules meet Unit needs and to minimize the use of agency personnel.
- Reviews appropriateness of the use of specialty beds for prevention of falls and pressure ulcers.
- Rounds in patient rooms assuring the completion of whiteboards as a means to engage patients and improve inpatient satisfaction.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse
- 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position.
