Home Infusion Pharmacist

A Clinical Pharmacist position is available on a 3-month contract to provide coverage for a leave of absence. This role requires multi-state licensure with valid licenses in both Alabama and Tennessee. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with part-time hours ranging from 24 to 35 weekly. The pharmacy location uses CareTend (CPR+ upgrade) technology.

• Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and appropriateness of medication therapy
• Provide patient counseling on specialty medications ensuring understanding and adherence
• Monitor drug therapies and intervene as required to optimize clinical outcomes
• Oversee pharmacy technicians’ activities, documentation, and performance
• Collaborate effectively with intake, referral, clinical services teams, and other pharmacy departments
• Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and maintain thorough documentation
• Participate in new employee training and provide guidance to pharmacy interns
• Manage pharmacy records including patient profiles and narcotic documentation
• Serve as clinical escalation point for resolving patient care issues
• Support specialty therapy coordination and patient onboarding processes

• BS or Doctorate of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
• Current unrestricted pharmacist licenses in AL and TN (multi-state licensure required)
• Strong knowledge of specialty and infusion pharmacy practices
• Minimum of three years experience in specialty, infusion, retail or hospital pharmacy preferred
• Experience working collaboratively with pharmacy technicians and clinical teams
• Proficiency or willingness to learn CareTend software preferred
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Ability to maintain compliance with regulatory and safety standards
