About the role
The Attorney General’s Office is recruiting for two permanent full time Paralegal 2 positions in the Civil Rights Division
Responsibilities
- Independently composing discovery documents, summonses, subpoenas, notices, memoranda and other legal pleadings
- Managing the organization of complex litigation
- Drafting declarations
- Drafting and responding to discovery requests
- Assisting attorneys in preparing for deposition, assisting at deposition, and preparing deposition summaries
- Assisting with legal research, case cite checking, ensuring compliance with all local rules, and proofreading
- Assisting in trial preparation and trial through preparation of exhibits, management of witnesses, and serving as the primary point person on courtroom aids
Requirements
- Four years of experience
- Paralegal certification
- Two-year paralegal degree
- Paraprofessional experience in support of an attorney
- Three years’ experience as a Paralegal 1 in Washington State Service
