Principal Technical PM Manager

Azure Core is at the forefront of innovation for Microsoft’s Cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) mission. We are responsible for designing and building the foundational primitives, platforms and services that power the current and next generation of applications including Generative AI.

• Secures executive support for the company-wide initiatives needed to succeed, maintaining the highest levels of trust and integrity with all stakeholders.
• Provides strategic help to cross-divisional teams as they work with Software and Hardware Engineering to design technical solutions, and also oversee teams as they identify risks and propose data-based mitigations.
• Drives cross-divisional teams to define success criteria and provide strategic knowledge to help them understand return on investment, and oversee team collaboration and ensure alignment on program management and release.
• Oversees cross-divisional teams as they deliver on feature roadmap, track project schedules, develop staging and implementation, and hold teams accountable for leading governance programs.
• Innovate program management practices across Azure services and champion the adoption of generative AI tools to streamline planning, feedback-loop synthesis, and engineering system efficiency, setting a new standard for scalable, data-informed decision-making across the platform.
• Stay abreast of industry trends in cloud infrastructure and advancements in program management, ensuring our approach and practices remain cutting-edge.

• Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
• OR equivalent experience
• 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects
• 8+ years working on Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) and building large scale distributed systems
• 3+ years people management experience
