About the role
The Out of State Tax Specialist | Fiscal Analyst 5 is responsible for analyzing complex tax laws to determine appropriate funds to be withheld from employee paychecks and providing guidance to lower level fiscal staff who also support the agency’s out-of-state tax function.
Responsibilities
- Managing Out of State Taxes
- Researching and documenting individual state tax laws and filing requirements
- Developing process documentation state-by-state to support all out of state tax requirements
- Implementing processes & procedures to support DOC’s Out of State Teleworking program
- Providing guidance to lower level fiscal staff who also support DOC’s Out of State Teleworking program
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 12 Semester or 18 Quarter hours of accounting credits from an accredited college or university
- Four years of relevant professional experience
- CPA License
- One (1) year experience working in an Automated Payroll System, such as WA State HRMS
