Licensed Practical Nurse 4 - AHCC
Responsibilities
- Monitor and collect specific data about the health status, clinical condition, or situation of individuals, families, groups, and communities
- Assist the Registered Nurse in developing nursing diagnoses and outcomes
- Contribute to the development of the plan of nursing care
- Carry out the plan of care by performing common therapeutic nursing interventions
- Assist the Registered Nurse in analysis and evaluation of the structure, process, and timeframes for service delivery
- Delegate and assign tasks to other staff as appropriate
- Teach, instruct, monitor, supervise, and evaluate the implementation of tasks and the results of patient care assigned to other personnel
- Supervise the staff to whom functions have been delegated
- Self-evaluate and practice professional nursing conduct at all times
- Protect the confidentiality of health records
- Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records of patient care
- Coordinate health care received by patients
- Complete unusual incident reports
- Respond to verbal and written requests from offenders and institution staff
- Administer medication
- Provide patient education regarding medications
- Prepare release medications in anticipation of offender transfer or release
- Provide competent patient care
- Evaluate and carry out licensed practitioners' written, verbal, and telephone orders
- Provide emergency medical care, including CPR
Requirements
- Initial and continuous unencumbered licensure in the State of Washington as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Two years of experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse
- Training by the American Heart Association in Healthcare Provider CPR
- Proficient using computer-based programs to schedule, monitor, and track patient information
- Experience working as a practical nurse in an acute care setting or correctional facility
