Must recognize and alert appropriate personnel to lethal arrhythmias and unstable hemodynamics. Demonstrates scheduling flexibility and is compliant with special requests as situations dictate. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. The value you'll bring to the team: Operates electrocardiograph (EKG) machines by attaching and connecting electrodes onto specified body regions Reviews patient records and provides patients with instructions prior to procedures. Reports abnormal findings to appropriate personnel Obtain pulse rates, blood pressure, body temperature and ECG changes while patients undergo diagnostic tests. Documents applicable patient and procedure data Identifies and corrects for artifacts. Edits and forwards results to attending physicians for analysis and interpretation Mains EKG equipment and supplies Surveys patients to gather medical history and determine the presence of factors that may affect recording systems Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed : KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED : Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements STRONGLY PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS : Ability to provide care to the population served Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry Ability to assess data regarding patient status and health Ability to provide care as described in job description follows departmental policies and procedures Ability to demonstrate professional relationship building skills and effective communication skills Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED : High School Grad / 0 years experience PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : High school diploma or General Education diploma Prior ECG experience with Philips and/or Mortara ECG machines Experience with Electronic Medical Records Experience performing ECGs in a hospital setting LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
