About the role
This position provides critical support to the mission of the organization by installing and maintaining equipment that enhances the operational abilities of the agency. The installation of safety equipment reduces the risk to Field Operations personnel while performing public safety services.
Responsibilities
- Install and remove radio communications, electronic equipment, mobile data systems, mobile video systems, emergency lighting systems, and other related safety equipment used in Washington State Patrol vehicles.
- Perform critical alignment
- Complete operational testing, programming, and initial troubleshooting of malfunctioning VHF two-way radio communication systems
- Act in a quality control capacity to ensure outfitted vehicles are in compliance with Federal Communications Commission regulations
Requirements
- High school completion (or equivalent GED)
- Proficient in the use of common shop tools such as hand and power tools
