About the role
Apple Ads is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager of Engineering Program Management (EPM) to lead teams responsible for our most critical advertising initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Drive Program Execution: Lead large-scale, cross-functional engineering programs in the video advertising space from conception to launch.
- Lead a team of high performing EPMs: Lead, grow, and mentor a team of EPMs that are responsible for delivering our most important, and cross-functional product & engineering initiatives.
- Build and Manage Relationships with Stakeholders: Act as the central point of contact for our portfolio of Finance, Billing, and Analytics programs.
- Communicate with Impact: Provide clear, concise, and regular communication on program status, risks, and changes to stakeholders at all levels, from individual engineers to executive leadership.
- Navigate Ambiguity: Thrive in a dynamic and often ambiguous environment where you are empowered to define project goals, identify the path forward, and create structure where none exists.
- Manage Vendors: Manage relationships and technical integrations with third-party ad tech vendors (i.e., Billing & Payments, Data Visualization).
- Manage Risks & Dependencies: Proactively identify, triage, and mitigate risks and cross-functional dependencies.
- Provide Technical Leadership: Leverage your familiarity with Finance & Billing systems to contribute to technical discussions, architectural decisions, and to ensure our engineering solutions are scalable, reliable, and effective.
Requirements
- Direct experience in, and deep familiarity with, the ad tech ecosystem
- 8+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional projects in a large engineering organization accountable for the development and deployment of applications and services at Apple scale.
- 5+ years of people management experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation and influence at all levels including executive leadership.
- Strong desire to learn, skills for problem solving, and the ability to make sophisticated trade-offs.
- Self-motivated, independent, and proactive; demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities; can quickly (realtime) triage, prioritize, and lead cross-functional teams under pressure.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Proven technical aptitude, you quickly learn key technologies related to your initiatives and beyond.
