About the role

Our Finance team plays an essential role in maintaining a healthy balance sheet at AIG. It delivers significant finance support for the overall enterprise, optimizing operations, controllership, funding, and capital structure to honour our stakeholder commitments. The team’s work is invaluable to informing leadership decision making, complying with regulatory requirements, and maintaining financial discipline, transparency and controls, while providing timely and meaningful information.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking of the Product tower performance (Key P&L items) against plan as well as KPI analysis (business drivers).
  • Clearly communicate financial information and analysis to senior management.
  • Support monthly forecast and quarter close process.
  • Promote accuracy and consistency of financials and KPIs across all countries and sub-products
  • Ensure quarter close actuals are accurate and are validated
  • Review and validate/challenge actuarial loss picks and assumptions, both current and prior year.
  • Expense management and monitoring, transparency of expense drivers, leveraging reports produced centrally and driving efficiencies across the business teams.
  • Reinsurance – support reinsurance strategy optimisation and annual renewals for the Tower, including the allocation of costs to countries.

Requirements

  • Significant experience in financial planning and analysis or business analysis
  • Insurance experience highly desirable
  • Strong operational experience and abilities to work to demanding deadlines
  • Advanced ability to work with analytic tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, PowerPoint)
  • Well organized, highly detailed, quantitative skills and strong focus on accuracy
  • Experience of working with offshore teams
