Clinical Dietitian Contingent Days

Reports to the Director, DMC Nutrition Services conducts a nutrition assessment for all patients identified at nutritional risk to determine an appropriate plan of nutrition therapy that meets their assessed needs.

• Conducts a nutrition assessment for all patients identified at nutritional risk
• Develops a nutrition care plan that meets the patient's assessed needs
• Participates in multidisciplinary rounds and provides education to various departments
• Researches and develops programs for dietetic interns
• Participates in research projects and nutrition-related programs
• Works with outside agencies to obtain ongoing assistance for patients
• Maintains hospital and departmental policies and procedures
• Directs food service personnel to ensure optimal nutritional food service
• Formulates special recipes or plans to meet patient needs
• Promotes guest relations and maintains good customer service
• Promotes the value of the DMC

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics
• Dietetic Internship in healthcare setting or completion of a supervised practice program
• Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or registry-eligible passing the registry exam within 6 months of completion of internship
• Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics required if working with patients with inherited metabolic disorders
