About the role

The Office of Secretary of State offers some of the most unique and diverse job opportunities in state government

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Maintain senior level data monitoring and trend analysis reporting projects
  • Tasks include: Independently, develops, implements, maintains, and modifies highly complex research projects
  • Develops and designs data reports from complex analytical research
  • Provides program support to the Corporations & Charities division as well as external stakeholders
  • Develops and designs interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI
  • Collaborate with IT representatives to define back-end database requirements
  • Collaborate with business units to identify necessary data requirements
  • Develops and maintains a centralized repository of standardized SQL queries
  • Prepares instructions and resources for Quality Assurance and Data Analytics team members
  • Maintains understanding of industry trends and advancements in data analytics tools
  • Conducts regular reviews of reporting metrics and methodologies

Requirements

  • Four years experience performing data analysis, statistics and/or research
  • Ability to efficiently use a personal computer and applicable software
  • Knowledge of laws and rules pertaining to business entities, nonprofits and charities in Washington State
  • Experience in crafting and optimizing SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from databases
  • Experience in using Power BI and other reporting tools/technologies
  • Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel skills
