About the role
Bead Captain is responsible to promote a positive and safe guest experience as related to riding Mardi Gras floats.
Responsibilities
- Perform all operational duties related to the daily opening and closing of Mardi Gras float riding experience.
- Responsible for inspection of floats for safety and show readiness, nightly cleaning of floats, setting up and striking of stanchions and signage, and executing called cues for special effects on route.
- Provide day-of training to guests related to expectations of float riding, upon arrival to check in area and throughout the Mardi Gras Parade.
- Assist guests by giving direction, oversee completion of legal paperwork, and escort to and from backstage areas.
- Monitor the operation for potential safety concerns, documents and take the appropriate action including evacuation of floats if necessary.
- Use park knowledge to provide positive service and accurate information to guests according to Entertainment departmental guidelines and expectations.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) days of availability per week from Saturday, February 7th, 2026 through April 4th, 2026.
- Comfortable working as early as 1pm and as late as 10pm.
- All time off requests must be approved by Marquee Event Management and will be on a first come, first serve basis.
- Training will begin as early as mid-January and can vary depending on start date.
