Registered Nurse Auditor Cath Lab

The Nurse Auditor role involves ensuring proper billing by auditing charges in the Cerner Clinical system, comparing them with medical documentation, collaborating with financial departments to correct errors, handling insurance audits, and participating in process improvement. Qualifications include a nursing diploma, 3 years of hospital audit experience, case management background as a plus, knowledge of medical treatments, and a Florida RN license.

• Ensure that charges generated in the Cerner Clinical system are properly billed by conducting chart audits that compare charges with physician orders, clinical documentation, and reports.
• Work closely with Financial Services and Patient Accounting departments to review and correct any charge errors.
• Refer complex charge issues to HIM, PFS, Customer Service, or case management.
• Work closely with FH/Managed Care department during audits requested by insurance companies.
• Participate in and occasionally chair meetings addressing process improvement initiatives related to charge accuracy levels.
• Audit multiple operational areas and provide regional coverage as required.

• Nursing School Diploma.
• 3 years clinical hospital experience in audit specialty.
• Case management experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of the disease process and treatment methodology is required and utilized at least 50% of the time.
• Current Florida License as an RN.
