Sign Language Interpreter

A full-time Sign Language Interpreter opportunity is available to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a 5th-grade student with cochlear implants in a K-12 school setting.

• Provide daily ASL interpretation services tailored to the student's individual communication needs
• Collaborate closely with educators and support staff to facilitate an inclusive classroom environment
• Utilize expertise in ASL to ensure effective communication between the student, teachers, and peers
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards

• Active Illinois EIS license for interpreting or an EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
• Proven experience interpreting ASL, particularly in educational settings
• Strong understanding of communication strategies for students with cochlear implants
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
