About the role
Public Health Program Coordinator, Wastewater Surveillance
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with wastewater treatment plants and other wastewater partners across Washington
- Coordinate onboarding, engagement, and ongoing participation of treatment plants in the wastewater surveillance program
- Schedule, track, and coordinate wastewater sample collection, shipping, and delivery to laboratory partners
- Maintain accurate sample and facility data across multiple tracking and reporting systems
- Communicate regularly with treatment plant operators, laboratory staff, program partners, couriers, and academic collaborators
- Develop and maintain clear documentation, tracking tools, and standard operating procedures to support consistent program operations
- Identify and resolve data gaps, errors, or delays and communicate issues quickly to keep work moving
- Support broader program operations, special projects, and cross team efforts as needed
Requirements
- Experience working in a health services, public health, medical, laboratory or similar setting
- Experience coordinating scheduling, shipping, or logistics for programs or projects
- Experience handling, tracking, or managing environmental, field, or laboratory samples
- Knowledge of data entry and data management practices in databases or tracking systems
